Decided to go with PVC for my pit, after viewing a few threads around here, and looking at the available space I have.

What I really want to do is a dashboard type setup, kinda like this:

Decided against the side panels for space reasons. May do some switches and stuff down the road.

In any case, anyone who has worked with PVC...how do you know how much you need, and what elbow joints to get? I have downloaded SketchUp and am beginning to learn that, so I'm hoping that will help me figure out how much material I need.

I didn't design mine before hand. PVC pipe is very easy to work with. I just started building and decided what I needed on the go. I built a part, designed the next piece in my head, took measurements and was off to the hardware store to buy the pieces I needed.

Thanks guys! I'll scope that site out Mike, looks like they have Furniture Grade PVC as well. Not sure how critical that is, but it's worth taking a look!
