Meatwod Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Good evening ! I would like to know what is the order installation of FC3. 1. Lock On + DCS World + DCS FC3 or 2. DCS World + Lock On + DCS FC3 Thanks ! Sheppard :smilewink: 1.
joey45 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 DCSW or Lockon > FC34 The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Sheppard Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Good evening ! Thanks for your answers ! So, I will install Lock On, then DCS World and then DCS FC3. I have an other question : To install DCS FC3, there isn't need of FC or FC2. It's because DCS FC3 contains also FC and FC2 ? Thanks ! Sheppard :smilewink:
Sci2 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 First dcs or first lockon doesnt matter Installing fc3 needs lockon only not fc1 or fc2 [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic90574_1.gif[/sIGPIC] Australasian Gaming Community Specs: Intel Quad 2.4GHz -- Geforce GTX 560 Duo -- SSD HDD -- 8Gb Mem -- 23" led -- 17"touch -- Logitech G940 Flight System --JoyLocs-- TIR 5 -- Cougar MFD'S -- Helios -
Sheppard Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Hello ! Thanks for your answer, but I know that DCS FC3 doesn't need FC and FC2. I would like to know if DCS FC3 contains FC and FC2, in other words, if a person have FC + FC2 + DCS FC3 and an other only FC3, it's the same or the first person have more things ? Thanks ! Sheppard
joey45 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 You do not need FC 1 or 2. FC3 is the updated version that you only need. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. EtherealN Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 The first person will have "more" things depending on how you look at it; FC1 and LOMAC contains the Crimea map - but not the Georgia that FC2 has. FC3 has what FC2 has - but more. (Expanded map to the east - basically it automatically has everything that DCS World has at this time and what it may be getting in the future.) Personally speaking though there's no reason to keep the old ones after install. Note that LOMAC, FC1 and FC2 are standalones - they don't integrate into DCS World. Spook Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 The Lock On + the patch and then the DCS FC3 Wolrd. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sheppard Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Hello ! Ok, thanks ! "+ the patch" Spook, what patch ?
Thunder1971 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 You do not need FC 1 or 2. FC3 is the updated version that you only need. This is written in the pre-puchase information for FC3: "Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 will require an installation of Lock On: Modern Air Combat or previous version Flaming Cliffs." So in this case I'll need Lock on (or an FC release) + FC3 +DCS? Or is the info on the page wrong? Just wanna know what I need for a newbie install for somebody who doesn't own anything yet. Thank you, T
Nopileus Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 You need exactly what it says there, an installed version of Lock On: Modern Air Combat. The FC3 installer will look for the LOMAC registry entries and installed files, if those are present it will install, if not it'll give you an error. Install LOMAC -> install DCS World (don't run yet) -> Install FC3 and any other module you want -> Run a mission for each module and enter the right serial number when asked.
Thunder1971 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Much appreciated Nopileus. Now I'll need to find myself a copy of LO ASAP Time to dust off the ol' Cougar :D Regards, T
Thunder1971 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Hmmm isn't the original Lock on available for download purchase somewhere? Don't feel like waiting for a disc TBH :glare: Regards, T
Nopileus Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 If you are in the US both Ubisoft and Amazon offer digital download versions for 9,99$. If not you'll have to source either a used copy of LOMAC (mine was ~4€) or buy Lock On Platinum new (~20$ includes FC2)
Sheppard Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Good morning ! I have an other question : Can I all install (LO + DCS WORLD + DCS FC3) without launch each module after their installation ? That is to say, I install LO, then DCS WORLD, then DCS FC3, and I launch. Thanks ! Sheppard :smilewink:
Kuky Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Can I all install (LO + DCS WORLD + DCS FC3) without launch each module after their installation? yes you can, you don't need to launch each module after its installed No longer active in DCS...
Sheppard Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Hello ! Thanks for your answer ! I just install LO, so I don't launch it. Now, I must install DCS WORLD, and launch it after install. After to have launch DCS WORLD, I close it, then I install DCS FC3. It's that ?
Kuky Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) you don't need to launch anything 1. install LOMAC (no need to launch it) 2. install DCS World (no need to launch it) 3. install all modules you have (Once you installed FC3 can delete/uninstall LOMAC) then you can launch DCS World, and it will ask you to activate DCS modules one by one you have installed Edited November 18, 2012 by Kuky No longer active in DCS...
Sheppard Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Hello ! I can uninstall LOMAC after to have install DCS WORLD ? But : "Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 will require an installation of Lock On: Modern Air Combat or previous version Flaming Cliffs."
Kuky Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Sorry you're right, once you installed FC3 can delete/uninstall LOMAC I've edited my post :) No longer active in DCS...
Sheppard Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Hello ! In fact, I must just have LOMAC for the install of DCS FC3. After, I can delete LOMAC. It's that ?
