tromac2010 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hammer thank you very much, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I had tweaked that it was most likely a step I was missing. It's been over 8 months since I set up Helios and that was just two screens. I thought it was the export.lua file but could not remember how to link Helios to DCS. Thanks again for your help! -Hammer- Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 No Problem, I´m glad could help you. I had the same problems as you. What I forgot is, that there is maybe the"orignal background panel" missing in your new profile. You´ll find it there: C:\Users\***Yourname***\Documents\Helios\Images\FPBackground.png Happy Hunting :pilotfly: Windows 10 | i7-8700K@5GHz | 2080 Ti | Intel Z370 Chipset | 32GB RAM@1866 MHz | SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB| Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS w. pii Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Treudd, I've got a short video showing this functionality . Hey I have a side question for you after seeing your video. How do you look down at the side panels and not be looking at them sideways? Whenever I turn my head to look at them the view rotates (which it should do) and everything is sideways and if I look back even more they can be upside down even. I've seen other videos where the view seems to just shift to the left (like in your @00:56) and the view is as though I'm behind it looking straight down instead of turning my head. Is this a trackIR axis setting? It would be so much more easier to read them if I wasn't looking at them sideways. I'd also like to shift over to view the mfcd's instead of looking at them from an angle. I also really like your set up not using anything other than the sim and can you make me a pit like yours  Could I get your TrackIR config? Thanks
GregP Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I think what're you referring to is the X, Y, and Z axes of TrackIR -- the axes that let you shift your head left, right, up, and down but without any rotation. If you enable those axes in your TrackIR profile, you should be able to do what you want, i.e. feeling like you're behind it looking straight down. I've attached my profile for reference. By the way, I recently uploaded video of me doing the whole startup sequence: DCS.zip
