Pilotasso Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I have noticed although 1.11 is a great improvement in terms of fluid gameplay. But I noticed that, every time LOMAC loads more textures for terrain as we fly over the map, the new data goes to the swap file. The result is that Swap file usage still inflates over time while ram usage decreases. this causes the much infamous FPS loss online after a while. DEV's? any comments? .
Yellonet Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 You get the frame rate degradation offline too. I'm not sure what triggers it though. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
Force_Feedback Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I think it's the burning wrecks of the su-25t, it's most noticable with the 25t, as it has lots of debris laying around. I tried changing teh display time for the wrecks (and all the wing parts, cockpit modules etc.) but it didn't work. Somehow fps degrades until it's unplayable. For example, a simple su-25t mission, no armament, just 45% fuel, to practice landings in severe turbulence. It starts off with 27 fps, but after a few crashes the fps is hitting 9, 10 :| Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Weta43 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Someone posted about memory leakage as you go from internal to external & back. To tell the difference you could try not crashing, but simply F1/F2/F1/F2 a few times to see if you get the same result ? Or roll for takeoff eject, respawn, roll for takeoff eject, respawn so you can get several wrecks in a short period of time, then respawn & wait to see if when the wrecks go (ctrl-A) the FPS: a/ go back to what they initially were, or b/ end up any different to those when you've gone inside - outside the same number of times Cheers.
Pilotasso Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 Well I see it online since my solo playing is almost nill. In most servers you dont get any externals. I think its more like every time the game loads more textures and objects the data goes to the swap file instead of ram. .
