Sevens Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Hey Guys, I was able to get my Nvidia Surround setup on my three monitors. I am using 5760 x 1080. I set DCS to 3 screen and 1024 every frame, MSAA to 4x, and HDR to Normal. I also checked off Disable Aero, Tree Shadows, Fully Screen, Cockpit Shadows, and TSSAA. I left VSync unchecked. I also made sure that VSync was unchecked within the NVidia control panel. I was able to get in game and by using FRAPS noticed that I was getting 10FPS. I tried using SoftTH but I was getting an error when I attempted to start DCS. With my system shouldn't I be getting more FPS? walker450 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 You should leave it on single monitor if you are using Nvidia Surround. Windows will see it as one big screen. Set DCS to 5760x1080 res single screen and frame-rates should pick up. PS: Run the game in full screen mode. The box needs to be checked by full screen. Sevens Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 I will try that when I get home tomorrow. I do have Full Screen checked off. Will I put it back on three screen when I hook up the two 8inch Lilliput monitors? JG14_Smil Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Use full screen with SoftTH. If you are using Helios, be sure to use an Aero Desktop theme. 1
Kuky Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Few pointers: 3 cameras will render the world 3 times (each camera/monitor renders terrain and objects in it) which will approximately reduce the framerate to a third. You need to over clock that CPU Edit graphics.cfg and reduce farclip value from 150000 to 100000 or less, that will render less terrain and increase your fps a bit Keep in mind triple monitor with 3 camera viewpoints are quite demanding and down low on airbases etc fps will be bit low especially if you have high AA, AF and all other settings on high. See my system it's similar to yours and I get about 15fps min with my setup on mostly high settings. Average in air is around 30-40 fps. You will need to tweak some settings to your liking til you get satisfactory fps. 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Sevens Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 (edited) Hey guys, JG, I tried your fix today and my FPS jumped up to about 30FPS. It did bounce around a lot and dipped into the teens when flying around mountains. Kuky, I will give your suggestions a shot too! I am worried about my lilliput's now.....will those totally kill my FPS? Thanks again guys! Kuky Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 exporting doesn't affect FPS much so you'll be fine. Only increased number of camera viewpoints degrade FPS quite a bit PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
