Today I completed my DCS collection in buying the P-51D Mustang Module.

I am very happy with it - much better as expected! thumbup.gif

The only things I noticed are that the loading times of any mission of that module takes ages: Around 3 minutes!

I have an 4x3,2 Ghz CPU with 4 Gig of Ram and a 1 Gig Nvidia GTX 460 graphics card.

No other DCS Module causes such long loading times.

I saw that around 1.4 Gigabyte of RAM are occupied by dcs.exe when P-51D Mustang is running.

Also, after the mission is loaded, my mouse pointer is at the desktop while the sim is running. FPS drop to less than 1 per second then, I have to click somewhere on the screen what takes me to the desktop, then I can click back in and the mouse is withing the game. :helpsmilie:

Then the fps get high again and it runs smooth as every other module on my PC after few seconds of recalling the graphics.

The settings I use are between medium and high. Slight changes have no effect on my issues

I use the 306.97 whql NVIDIA driver and my OS is Windows 7 64bit.

DCS World and all modules are on the most recent version 1.2.2.7570

I hope you can help :helpsmilie:

Regarding loading times, what kind of hard drive do you use ( Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > Disk Drives )?

Hi guys,

I'm having the same thing with the mouse, it's making it impossible to do anything. I was wondering whether it was just me! Even if I hit escape I can't select any of the options. I have no problems is BS2 or A-10C as individual programs, only in DCS World.

Is there a fix for this?

Cheers,

OD.

Strange, never had such an experience ? yesterday after migrating to win 8 I installed DSC World there and all is fine too...

Try checking/un-checking the "Full Screen" Option

Well, all was fine until I install FSX last week end.

At launching of DCS I started to have messages about a problem of the game colors wich were not "recognized" by Windows, i hided those messages witch were doing a "return on the desktop" but it didn't remove the problem.

Yesterday evening i tried what you wrote : i disabled "full screen" in DCS. It seems to work well now, Thanks !

No other DCS Module causes such long loading times.

I experienced this too. Due to a failure of my SSD, I had to move DCS World to my HDD for a few days. When flying the P-51D landing training mission from my "slow" Samsung F3 HDD the loading time was around 4 minutes for the first run. Subsequent loading times for this mission were faster.

Running from my (working again) SSD the mission loads under 40 seconds.
