Here are some pics of cannon trigger constructionpicture.php?albumid=725&pictureid=5191 here it is cut to length, hole drilled for shaft and marked with tape on top. No fileing the tape. You can see the 8" " Half Round" file that I used to cut the curve " top right of pic ".

" top right". Edit: Will provide detailed dimentions later, drawing not finished.

picture.php?albumid=725&pictureid=5188 Here I have used a hacksaw to put slashes across the trigger. Start at the tip 1/8" back, cut , space, cut untill you get to the back." I freehand this" If you look closly at the pic you can see that. Depth. Look at the pic and gage. asume the gaps are on 1/8" spaces between centers then extrapulate the depth from that. I just eyeball it.

picture.php?albumid=725&pictureid=5189 Here I have used a 8 " flat file to shape the slashes. Note :File is not smooth on narrow edges.Put the corner of the file into a groove ,file parrallel to the grooves while rocking the file from tip to rear, rear to tip and so on . do this for each groove untill you think it is finished. Note: If while fileing parallel to the grooves , you rock the file at the end of the stroke , You will acsentuate the teeth, make them look deeper than they are. This can be usfull if you feel the grooves are not deep enough.

picture.php?albumid=725&pictureid=5190 clean the edges with steelwool . still needes rounding at the rear but I will wait untill I fit it to the arm. Some more detail will be in the drawing as to shaping the rear . The weapons trigger grooves are done the same way with minutlly slightly larger gaps between the grooves. Mark.

diffrent

picture.php?albumid=725&pictureid=5146HERE is how the weapons trigger is offset. With 2 scrapes of the same material as the trigger placed on either side of the offset in a vice squeeze real hard. there is a 1/4-3/8" gap between the 2 pieces of scrap. this is where the offset will transition.I used tape to mark the bend.

The end result doesnt look like what you did here on this picture. Here the plate is bended. But at the end result two pates were nailed together. Have you changed the bending idea and used nails instead ?

Hello Clyber.

Yes, correct. The "Finished" trigger is put together with rivetts. It was modify 5 or 6 times and I got tirred of cutting new ones, so the offset was a result of using rivetts to save time. After seeing the fit I realized It needed to be in the design.

The above trigger is Version 2 With changes to the design. I hope Improvments, but will have to wait untill its finished.

The original is holding out fine, and due to not having enuff time in a day to work on my pit , this project is in slow mode.

Good news is the pit is looking good, and I will finish it one day.

Good to see your enthusium in the KA-50

Hey Mark, i tought i read a post from you with a picture of the Cyclic topbox with dimensions measurments and all that, but i cant find it can you send me a link or can you post this if you hadnt post it yet svp ?

There are no dimensions , anywhere That I could find. There are some pics of a real cyclic in a posting in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99274

I will try to find the exact link to the pics latter . They are pritty much all I had to use . And I used a lot of guesstemation.

The trigger assembly was made first. The front face dimension, of the cyclic top, is the same as the trigger mount base plus 1/8". The width of the hump on top is the same as the trigger base width . With this I estimated the front face shape. Then the depth and so on.

The rear face had to be big enough to hold all the switches and hat that mount on it.

The grip is a copie of my hand. I traced my hand with a sharpie while holding a large 4"x4"x12" piece of styro.

I will measure my cyclic the best I can and post latter

Sorry, the top of the slew button I made, the part you can see. It is conected to a Sparkfun 5 way miniswitch. Works but I want better. Got some Hats from Splash one bandit, He has a web site, that worked very wll.I used them on my collective. Problem is they will need to be modifyed and right now I must finish my pit ,then this will be done. I should add the 5 way switch is working and doing its job, its just not the same as a real hat switch
