Documentation of all units in DCS World in PDF with explanation (history etc...)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am searching for a PDF document that explains and properly documents all (ground) units modeled in DCS World.

I find the DCS World encyclopedia not sufficient to understand the behaviour and the military properties of ground units. Also, the encyclopedia is incomplete... Units are missing, and weapons are missing. When I had the janes simulator longbow 2 a long time ago, it explained very detailed the military behaviour of most ground units in that sim. I am missing this in DCS World, especially because when i want to create my own missions, i want to understand the weapons each ground unit has, or, what units i need to put together to make them operate correctly (f.e. the SCUD units...).

It's a very very very good work, I found necessary to create some modifications but you could use them as they are.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
