sigzegv Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) After a 15 minutes fly at 2300 + meters, I had the Left Eng Oil Press alert. 5 minutes ago, I had the rotor anti icing warning, so I activated it. I don't know how to fix this kind of issue and why it is happening. I am very new to black shark ( bought the game 2 weeks ago ), I just spent my time learning driving, navigation and weapons, and I still use fast startup in missions ( lwin+home ). Erforce Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Did you activated the Engine Ice protection too? (knob next to rotor anti-ice) You have 3 positions :Ice / Off / Dust protection. Usually, when it's cold outside, your Shark becomes a flying chistmas tree. everything lit on. ;) TASK / ROLES acronyms guide Black Shark A.I. datalink guide illustrated (v1.2.4 Available on Wiki) DCS World Codex 1.1 : full units list (Speed/Weapons/Armor thickness/Threat zone/Weapon damage...) seikdel Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Heck, you have to be careful of icing even if you don't get the warnings. I just had my left engine ice out a couple of days ago while flying high on a balmy spring day. I got my rotor anti-ice warning in the middle of my in-flight restart. Any time you're up high (~3000m, maybe?), check the outside temperature using the gauge directly above your head. When it starts getting below 0, flip on the engine anti-ice. If you ever have an engine ice out (die unexpectedly for no reason while you're high up or in a cold environment), you may have to crank it for ~20sec before it'll restart. Always an adventure, ain't it?
JG14_Smil Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Pilots use checklists to prevent that sort of thing :)
seikdel Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Anyone have any relevant checklists that helo pilots use for icing?
