Boggit Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Hi guys . Hope someone can help me with this . Searched the forums already and found one post regarding this . But it doesn`t seem to work for me . I have 3 screens in landscape eyefinity setup . Current resolution with bezel compensation is 5928 x 1080 . Flying the A10 works a treat and the cockpit view and FOV look fine. But when i fly the P51D . The wings appear swept forward badly . I have tried adjusting the view angle in `SnapViewDefault.lua` , it seems to make no difference . Any of you clever bods out there , got any suggestions. This wierd view is really spoiling a great sim . Thanks in advance . ASUS Strix X299 , I7 7820 CPU , 32GB 3200Mhz RAM .Corsair H115i Cooler. Kuky Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Which value did you change? I see in SnapViewsDefault.lua for P-51 there are 2 values for ViewAngle, try changing them both to your FoV ° value function p51_snap_views() local index = 12 local default_trans_y = 0.059 local default_trans_x = 0.12 local default_vAngle = -9.5 local default_viewAngle = 80 local snaps = {} for i = 1,13 do local snap = { y_trans = default_trans_y, x_trans = default_trans_x, z_trans = 0, hAngle = 0, vAngle = default_vAngle, rollAngle = 0, viewAngle = default_viewAngle, } snaps = snap; end x_trans = 0.063871916051563102 y_trans = 0.082887967677164109 z_trans = -0.11614829984080680 hAngle = 157.33276460004225 vAngle = -28.359502975494244 viewAngle = 91.039999999999168 No longer active in DCS...
Boggit Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Cheers Kuky , will have a go at that and report back . ASUS Strix X299 , I7 7820 CPU , 32GB 3200Mhz RAM .Corsair H115i Cooler. Lil REB Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Sounds like your running a setting that see's all 3 monitors. What works for me is to run all 3 monitors as 1 in my eyefinity group. My desktop resolution is 5760x1080 without bezel adjustment, and the same in the game with the added adjustment below, Ck out the thread below for additional settings that will pull it all together for you, along with a 1 monitor setting and this in game adjustment, everything is good. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84270
Boggit Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Thanks Lil`REB for the response . I have my monitors already setup as one display in eyefinity . The bezel comp is required or an odject passing from centre monitor to right or left appears to jump the width of the bezel . The compensation when set correctly makes it appear to pas behind the bezel as if it were your canopy frame . The post you linked is the one i had found previously . But after setting up eyefinity i have no issues with stretched menus or GUI . Thanks for taking the time to look though sir . Kuky , hello again . Had a little success altering the figures you highlighted . When set to 50 , the view and angle of the wings when turning your virtual head seem to be spot on . The knock on effect of this seems to be that my head position is too far forward . I can only see the top row of instruments on the panel . If i zoom out then we go back to swept wing look . I think there must be another setting that`s adjusted in conjunction with the ones you suggested , though i am not sure . Thanks for getting me this far though . Kuky Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 You can't adjust anything else, if you want 1:1 ratio (and non-streched image) you can't do anything about it. 50° FoV for each monitor is too little, I think best is use 60°-70° for about most realistic setting (also depends a little how far you are from the monitors). I for example use 70° FoV for ground attach aircraft and 75° for fighters. No longer active in DCS...
GregP Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 It sounds to me like you might be running the "3 screens" option within DCS's configuration options screen, rather than the "1 screen" option; are you sure you're doing the latter?
Boggit Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 By golly and by jingo , i think you`ve got it sir . Went in to `Options` and i had 3 screens selected . Changed it to 1 and re-edited the snapdefaultview file again back to 75 and it`s running great . Thanks very much for the help Gregp . Must have just looked at the setting before and thought Eyefinity with three monitors must be set to `3 screens` . Thanks again . GregP Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Excellent, glad to hear that fixed it! Yes, the '3 screens' vs '1 screen' issue is a common one, and understandable given the ambiguity surrounding what it's supposed to do.
