Hello Everyone!

Hello DCS Community.

I have recently downloaded DCS World and bought FC3 to go along with it. I can't wait to dive in and re-learn all the systems again since my last play of the original Lock On.... Oh boy, been a while. :P

I have some initial questions if anyone doesn't mind. I have noticed in some multi-player games, when it launches and your on the tarmac, your weaponless. Is there something I need to do in the briefing screen (Although, I can't seem to find a place to set your load out...) to garner weapons to do the say, CAS mission the MP Server say's it's doing?

Secondly, how much different is AC-10 vs the AC-10 which comes with FC3? I already plan on getting BS and CA, just wondering if it's worth the 40.00 tag to get a plane I already have.

Anyway, that is all for now... Nice to meet you all! Can't wait to dive in!

New to FC3 (and DCS World) is the ability to choose your weapons. When you spawn with no weapons, go to rearm and then press the loadout select button (I don't remember what the default button is, look it up in controls) to select weapons.

The DCS A-10 has a fully clickable cockpit and very detailed systems modeling that is lacking in the A-10A. It also allows the use of JDAM bombs and the LIGHTNING targeting pod that makes finding targets much easier. The TAD and ability to share data with other forces are also big differences. Currently, the A-10A only has SFM flight model, but I think it will be updated to AFM soon, so that will be the same between both aircraft.

Overall though, the DCS A-10 is very different. It's more capable, and I find it more fun to fly. It takes a lot longer to learn than the A-10A though.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

Hi and welcome. A-10C is VERY different from A-10A of FC3. modeled to much deeper extent with almost all systems operational and working. quite a piece of work.

BTW, just how much outside Chicago are you?

ADD:

A-10c on origin is at 10$

I live about 4.187 miles east of Chicago.

Doesn't that put you right in the middle of Lake Michigan?

When you spawn with no weapons, go to rearm

Just to be 100% clear, "Rearm" is an option in the communications menu. The flow is something like:

\ - Open the Radio Menu

F8 - Select "Ground Crew"

F3 - Select "Rearm"

F(?) - Select whichever option seems right for the mission
