Hope the pilot is safe, certainly doesn't sound good though. Reminds me of a jet that went down at Luke, the pilot blacked out and nose dived into the ground at over 400kts.

Italian newspapers say that the pilot has reported an "unspecified problem". His leader (or wingman) was 'blind' on him, therefore he can't say if the F-16 has crashed.

 

UPDATE:

Coast Guard has found some fuel traces and are looking for the pilot in that area.

Croatia also participates in SAR with few ships. I've heard it on the radio today. They also said that pilot didn't eject but I hope it ain't true.
