mr_mojo97 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Prob been asked a few times before. But in the DCS standard missions when I call my wingman to do something like engage ground targets at my spi with guided bombs, I get a response but he just follows me and does nowt else. If someone can point me in the right direction. Quirkitized Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Make sure you make a SPI, and are fair enough out from the target, and a good altitude. If there is anti-air threats, usually they won't drop the bombs unless you are already at a very high altitude to avoid being shot/detected. sometimes it also takes a few times to ask them, more so if you ask them to do something but they are trying to rejoin formation, you need to wait for them to "2 rejoined" message to issue a new order. this is my personal experience, sometimes it just seems a little off with wingmen in the game.
Razi Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 You also need to make sure that you are broadcasting your SPI. I was having the same troubles until I realized I wasn't broadcasting my SPI. Use HOTAS DMS Left Long to broadcast your SPI. In the top right of your TAD display you'll see the option to broadcast your SPI Turn on/off.
mr_mojo97 Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Ah, ok, that sounds good, I'll give that a go and let you know. mr_mojo97 Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Ok, I've trid that without success. Is there an order in which I need to broadcast my SPI? I've had it set to ON (DMS left long) before and after seting my SPI. Basically I want to try and complete the River Raider mission and the first bunker I want m wingman to take it out but he just follows me - I'm set to the correct channel as he is responding to me so I'm obviously missing something else. Any other ideas? GAJ52 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I have been trying to get this problem recognised for ages. I think one of the testers did acknowledge there was a problem with the AI Wingman attacking SPI targets but that was some time ago. For all those that say its working try this : Start the Instant Action mission Easy-East Georgia-Spring and take out the first two waypoint targets yourself WP2 (two trucks) and WP3 (Patrol). Then fly towards WP4 (Bridge), ensure the bridge is SPI and you are broadcasting SPI. Instruct your wingman to attack the AAA guarding the bridge using the radio commands F1 Wingman then F3 Engage with ... then F4 Engage Air Defences then F1 Missile .. F1 Default. If you take him very close to WP4 and he actually spots the Air Defences he might then if your lucky attack it, but if he hasn't called seeing the AAA he just ignores it. I have been with the A-10C Warthog from the early Beta's and it was working fine at one point, but annoyingly it was broken during one of the Updates which it totally wrecking the Single Player gameplay. I noticed once again there is no mention of a fix in the DCS Change Log 1.2.3 :( GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
kobac Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Have you noticed that now (in v. 1.2.4) A-10C wingman, although the mission is set to "start from ramp", when you start the mission, have already running engine? Earlier wingman starts engines only when the leader get permission from ATC - which was correct. I hope this bug/error will be corrected in the next patch. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
