Bahger Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) I've been envious of other mission designers whose presentational map graphics look great. By contrast, mine, made in MS Paint, invariably look like sh*t. Can anyone suggest a program/utility for making good, crisp, military-style map annotations and overlay. I do not have Photoshop and cannot justify paying a lot of money. Suggestions would be most welcome. Edited February 5, 2013 by Bahger
PeterP Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) My suggestion: Use this : The Overlay Maker -military planning paint program And maybe you can use the black sea area of this maps: ONC 1:1,000,000 Clickable Index Map - Americas and Pacific Index - Perry-Castañeda Map Collection - UT Library Online Edited February 5, 2013 by PeterP 1
Bahger Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 This looks like exactly what I need, PeterP, many thanks. (For whatever reason, the map link does not seem to work.)
MasterZelgadis Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I found that google maps is a nice resource too. Programs like paint.NET are sufficient for that. check it out, it's free. GIMP is nice too. Made that with google maps + paint.NET "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler." http://www.space-view.net
PeterP Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (For whatever reason, the map link does not seem to work.) The link works. ...are you on a slow connection ? - give the site some time. The image is very huge.
NBEagle Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 nice link, it's quite good for the cold war period too
Bahger Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 The link works. ...are you on a slow connection ? - give the site some time. The image is very huge. I'm trying again now. I have a good cable connection. The images tries to load then times out, producing a failure message. Does anyone else have a map source for the DCSW battlefield? If not, I'll use screenshots of the sim map.
