From page 85 of the FC3 manual:

HSI F-15

"In the center of the display is the course deviation indicator. The course deviation dots show the deviation of the current aircraft position from the required course line. Each dot represents a 5-degree deviation from the set course."

Does that mean I need to turn 7 degrees to the left if the course deviation line on the HSI is 7 degrees to my left?

Also what does the flashing CSET indicate on the bottom right HUD when in NAV [iLSN[ mode and the 10 90 number [changes value] on the bottom left of the HUD?

Thank you.

I suggest to

he did on that topic for the A-10C... doesn't matter if A-10C or F-15C or F-16 the workings are the same. You only miss the clickable cockpit :D

By the way the Flaming Cliffs A-10A relies pretty much on the HSI and course deviation to precisely follow a flightplan...

Well I certainly would like to have that 3D cockpit flying in the F-15, brings me back 15 years ago to Jane's F/A-18 which still to this day is on of the most advanced sim representation of a modern plane.

Thank you for the link although I understood the function of the HSI, the CDI dots in the F-15 manual don't have a mile value to them, just a degree off value. In the A-10 there is programability that gives you angle off or straight miles to the CDI.

I think for the purpose of the F-15 I'll fly a test out to 1 dot and turn hard into the CDI and mark the distance. Since there isn't a scale option in the F-15 the dot mileage should remain a constant.

Was the sim video you showed DCS: A-10C WARTHOG – 60% (15.99 USD)

DCS: Available for download now?

Any idea on my other question below:

Also what does the flashing CSET indicate on the bottom right HUD when in NAV [iLSN] mode and the 10 90 number [changes value] on the bottom left of the HUD?

Thanks again.

Yes, that is the DCS: A-10C Warthog, though that "News" refers to an special offer for holidays. You should look around the DCS Website or at online retailers, there are quite regular sales when you get it for about $10 - $25... normal price from ED still is $40... well even that is more than worth the money. It is the TM Warthog HOTAS, TrackIR, Rudder-Pedals, home build USB controllers resembling the pit that cost a fortune :D

As to the CSET light - no idea!

I like the fact that there is a lot more active cockpit settings in A-10. I've done some reading and although I prefer flying fighters, I also like highly technical cockpits. Do you know if there is an alternative discounted download available?
