Pteradon Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Mr_Mojo97, I just did the upgrade and no regret :D http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101934 Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero | Ryzen 9 9950X3D | G.Skill DDR5 Trident Z5 64GB | Samsung 9100 PRO m2 4TB | ASUS Astral RTX 5090 LC | TM AVA | TM Viper TQS | TM TPR pedals | WinWing Super Taurus | WinWing TopGun MIP | TrackIR 5 | Windows 11
mr_mojo97 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 In your other post Skatezilla said you'd get a 'bit better performance'. Do you find you get a much larger performance increase over the 6950? Pteradon Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The fps increase more than 2x fps i had with the HD6950. I have turned alot of settings up and still have a good fps. For me, this upgrade, is worth the money. Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero | Ryzen 9 9950X3D | G.Skill DDR5 Trident Z5 64GB | Samsung 9100 PRO m2 4TB | ASUS Astral RTX 5090 LC | TM AVA | TM Viper TQS | TM TPR pedals | WinWing Super Taurus | WinWing TopGun MIP | TrackIR 5 | Windows 11
gbag1992 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I just switched from Crossfired HD6850 to the PNY GTX670, and my god is it good! I highly recommend this card. Graphic settings maxed out in DCS. Also brilliant in games like Far Cry 3. :)
SkateZilla Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 a 670 Has significantly better specs than a 6950, They have the same 256-Bit Bus, but the 670 has more TMUs, ROPs, and higher overall memory Bandwidth. nVidia's CUDA Cores Seem to be faster at processing RAW Geometry than GCN, Let alone the gen Before it. 670 will stomp Xfired 6850s in DCS for 2 Reasons. A. DCS Doesnt Supprt XFire, it's hit and Miss, and even if you can get both GPUs to work, the Scaling isnt no where near 100/100, best I've Seen is a Scaling of 55/60, meaning GPU0 was at 55% usuage and GPU1 was at 60%. B. 6850s have a Smaller Memory Bus Width, Less Memory, and Slower Memory. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
