Ramp-started an F16, left my wingman sitting on the ramp, taxied the wrong way to the wrong end of the runway, flagrantly ignored the tower instructions to wait, took off the wrong way towards an aircraft on final, and got a serious ear-bashing from the tower as a result!

I want this in my Flanker!!

Don't worry, I haven't entirely converted to the dark side - I then went back and flew a BVR duel in a MiG29G and just couldn't believe how much better it looked and felt.

Sigh . . . . one day . . . . .

Just as long as nobody actually says the dreaded "F" word, I'm hoping nobody's gyros will start to tumble. :D The coms in LOMAC right now are pretty weak, especially with ATC. Last night, I started my engines, closed the canopy and asked for permission to taxi. I was cleared to Runway 24, but had to cross Runway 21 to get there. Well...I almost ruined the day for the poor guy in the other A-10 who was on his takeoff run down 21. The next flight, I tried to work with it by holding short of 21 and asking for permission to takeoff. Hello?!!! Anybody up there?!!! No response from ATC this time, and the same thing happened every time I held short.

Well, in lomac I don't use ATC, but the ATC is the original other game was weak as well, only in this last incarnation of the old beast ATC comms are well done. Still, I don't like the dark look of it, in lomac everything seems more vivid and crisp, while in the other sim everything is soo conservative and rusty.

If you think of Lomac as the sequel to Flanker (version 1.0 is from 1996 or so) - how tricky and evil should the AI be today and how substantiated the dynamic campaign?

lol try having your IFR flight plan canceled after a 2 hour flight because you were called away and forgot to pause the sim ..aarrgg.. now that's frustrating.

I mostly Fly two sims, Lockon and FS9 and for last two weeks I've been dedicating all of my flightsim time to learning how to fly the long awaited 412 by Jordan Moore. I mainly fly helicopters in FS9 but this one is on another level of realism here's some pics;

I think it's healthy to fly more than one sim expecially if you have a varied interest in aviation then you most likely won't find everything you're looking for in just one sim so if you have the time then flying two or more sims is a must. As for Falcon well it's great sim .. even though it's not for me it has many features that should be admired but the sim itself has never been in question and that's all I'll say about that ;)

Lol, are you on crack, Sir? I never even implied that Falcon might be even related to Flanker.

I don't like the dark look, with almost no contrast, of falcon and the weapon moddeling is too perfect, is the guidance is working you have a guaranteed hit. Not saying that lomac has better weapon moddeling, but in falcon is's just unbelevable.

Did anyone bring a defuse kit?

Remember, buy, 8, 6 . . . . it's essential on this map!

I do like the "are you on crack . . . . Sir?" comment :p

The look and graphics are just different, weapons modelling . . . I dunno.

This is a "I want that feature!" thread, not a slamming thread. I hope.

Keep that up, and you'll get court marshaled.

Well, i'm not on crack and if you have contrast problems please re-read you monitor manual. Falcon related to Flanker? Nah, i never claimed you said that. Lomac is the sequel to Flanker (1 and 2) and i'm missing some progress in AI and gameplay - what is of course difficult to obtain.

If you read some of GGTharos postings the 9m missile has a PK of 80%, not to speak of the 120. So i'll guess it's pretty good modelled.

Nope not payware totally free and the level of detail is actually better than payware.

Check this out.. working emergency floats;

floats4tf.th.jpg

You can get it at HoverControl http://69.44.154.34/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?direct=File--Downloads/HC_Helicopters get the Hovercontrol 412 and the service pack.. you don't need the Texture lite unless you have a low end system.

Note; This Helicopters is more complex than the sim itself and has a true twin engine start up procedure .. so you can't just select it like a normal aircraft in FS9 but all this is explained in the documentation.

Also it's a good idea to set up your controls like this; http://64.34.169.161/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=8;t=1790 you may need to tone down the “General” setting a little.

Oh if you want the Offshore platforms then go here;http://69.44.154.34/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?direct=File--Downloads/Scenery the GOM ones are awesome

Well...if the environment in LOMAC wasn't so sterile, you'd need to use ATC. Air traffic conflicts don't seem to be NEARLY as much of a concern, and that particular aspect is not very realistic.

I fly both, with LOMAC being my current favorite. She may lack the depth of the other girl...but she sure is a hell of a lot prettier. :D

Heh...as long as you have a smokin' hot computer. ;) Nah...I know what you mean. The flight model in SP4.2 is getting pretty close though.
