Dear ED,

I really like the DCS series and all the work you have put in is incredible. However as a designer by trade the one thing I have to fault you on is the attention to the UI.

I have been modding game UI for years, previously in Counter-Strike and the Source Engine by Valve. I assume you have hard coded the UI for the multiplayer menus with C++ and haven't yet written a fast ui engine. I would suggest using Scaleform (http://gameware.autodesk.com/scaleform).

It took me a while to adopt it but within a few days you can produce amazing results. It would be great if I could speak with a dev about this or if we can get this looked at by ED.

Thanks

Ed

EDIT: I've got home and had a look at how it's done. Would it be possible to have a scale-able UI in multiplayer?

Problem is in licensing such tech. Mainstream games have million dollar budgets and they can afford all the fancy tech. But a dev like ED needs to pay atleast a few thousands of dollars for tech from Autodesk which could be their entire profit margin. Of course I don't know any numbers, but I do know the customer base for ED sims isn't as huge as say Witcher 2, Batman Arkham city etc etc.

I think ED's menu system is amazing as it is. Very clean and functional. Although I would love a search function in the control settings.

The cost is pretty low to be honest, I worked on a developer license with them before for a very small project and the guys upstairs went with it so I don't think cost would be the issue.

Really I just want to get the opinion of the devs on what the process would be to update the UI and what the community or I can do to help for free.
