Falcon,

Which CPU were you considering with this model? As you well know, DCS World is very CPU dependent.

Understand one thing about Sagers, they are built quite well but the user can NOT make any changes in the BIOS to overclock the CPU. So if you get the i7-3940XM which is unlocked, there is no way to increase the speed over 3.0ghz.

These limitations are why I chose the laptop I did for my mobile flight/gaming. I have full access to all BIOS parameters just as one would have on a desktop.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you,

Monnie

Falcon127,

Glad to help and thanks for the compliments.

Have you thought about getting an Alienware?

Which country are you in?

I have had Sagers before and one disappointing factor is their warranty. They take forever and you must pay shipping BOTH ways.

Good place to read up on both brands is:

The model is actually a Clevo P150EM so you can search for that brand and model reviews (as various OEMs have them).

You should definitely get good results with that GPU :)

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

I am in the USA. I will look at Alien. Thanks for the replys Guys.

Can you over clock MSI cpu?

I really like ASUS G55 but you only get NVIDIA GTX 660 2Gig video memery. No graphics upgrade.

Thanks for all the help.

Falcon127,

I have not heard of any MSI notebooks that you can overclock the processor.

Since you are in USA, I suggest giving Alienware a good look. Their warranty is outstanding.

A lot of people complain about the price of Alienware but they have specials often and also you can haggle with the sales representative if you get one based in USA. Do NOT order online! There are threads on notebook review forum how to get good deals. Lets just say, I saved a bundle and got the exact machine I wanted by playing the game.

Thank you,

Monnie

Falcon, if I may ask why don't you buy a normal PC? With that kind of money you can get real good hardware that will destroy any laptop...

I need to be mobile right now and lock up the computer in my Gun safe when I am not at home. I agree with you desk tops are the most power for the money. I play FSX and DCS digital combat simulator (Russian based commrad) DCS can have several programs going at once, ie: power hungry ;-) I am also learning P3D from Lockeed Martin which is a rebuild of FSX. Plus Im kind of a nerd being involved in Energy Engineering and Productin and I run some heavy math and alogrithums on my machine. I am involved in a group from U C Bazerkly (Berkley) Im the bonehead of the group! ;-) "technician"

Ok probably a lot more than anyone wants to know, Im at starbucks drinking some of their biker crank and Im ready to roll.:-)

You asked how much $ is available... $ 2 k. I can build a good desktop myself for that kind of money.

Thanks again for all the help guys.

You are welcome Falcon127.

I use my notebook when I need to be mobile(which is often) without sacrifice of gameplay or computing horsepower(running 4.5ghz on all cores at 60c-65c), so I understand.

Thank you,

Monnie
