  1. Yes, DisplayPort is the best so far. But HDMI 2.0 was approved and also there are high end TVs that have it already. It can do 4K 60 Hz. Problem is that there is no video card with HDMI 2.0 yet.
  2. It would take a real monster video card to drive DCS at 120 fps...
  3. Nvidia 770 2GB. It seems that Nvidia drivers use less CPU, which is very important especially if your CPU is not overclocked.
  4. Higher than 1080p monitors and TVs are too close to the price of the new 4K displays so I guess waiting is the strategy for now.
  5. I think a 50" 4K TV would be great for DCS. Problem is that an affordable one (Seiki) does only 30 Hz while a good one (Panasonic with Display Port) is quite expensive. Currently using a 30" Samsung 2560x1600 and four 24" 1920x1200 but I would not buy anything but 4K considering the future. Or maybe Oculus Rift if they figure it out...
  6. Yes, that's it. No radar => no target designation and the missile will acquire on its own, usually the nearest target. Missiles do not have IFF...
  7. The PCIe 3.0 is irrelevant. I am driving 5 monitors with a 680 2G on PCIe 2.0 and it works amazing considering the total number of pixels involved. Get the 770 2G, it is a very good card and the sweet spot now for price/performance.
  8. 770 is a re-branded 680. 760 is an improved 670. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7103/nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-review

  10. Some mods can be done in the "Saved Games" and they will survive any updates. This is a good design.
  11. The replay never worked properly... You are lucky as in replay your is plane doing what it is supposed to do. Try some more dynamic flying and you will see that you survived in the game but died in the replay :( We should make some complaints about the replay system... it is been broken for a very long time.
  12. Two 770 4GB in SLI are faster than one 780 Ti 3GB. But you will need a motherboard that supports SLI. If you want good performance change the CPU and MB, go for an Intel i5-4670K and overclock it; much faster than any AMD CPU.
  13. The only DCS usage for a 2nd video card and monitor(s) is for "non 3D" stuff. That can be Helios buttons and gauges, but no MFCD exports. Also the kneeboard is 3D so it cannot be displayed on the 2nd video card. The moment you display anyhting 3D on the 2nd video card the FPS drops dramatically. This is the same for Nvidia and AMD cards.
  14. Abburo, if you read my post above it says "Two of four CPU's are used all the time". This is a well known fact. Rendering DirectX on more than one core is very hard to do. So don't expect that to come soon, EDGE or whatever.
  15. Try overclocking the CPU and it should handle that. I do only 3.9 GHz and it works. Newer i7 CPUs can easily do 4.2 GHz. Smoke is a known problem and it is not really mandatory IMHO.
  16. I disagree... at least in my case the GPU is the bottleneck, not the CPU. Two of four CPU's are used all the time and they never go 100%.
  17. I guess that I am asking in the wrong forum... Mods please move this thread to "Input and Output" http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=96 Thank you.
  18. I use a 680 with 4 monitors, 4960x2936. The new Nvidia drivers brought no increase of performance. I guess the improvements are for DirectX 11 games only...
  19. For me is about the same... not faster, not slower.
  20. I find the autopilot very useful and use it quite often. As recently it got "downgraded" to match the real life F15, it has only 2 modes: attitude hold and altitude hold. Altitude hold requires that attitude hold is active. Because the autopilot will not engage all the time, one must check this status. I want to display on my instruments monitor what the current autopilot status is. It should be one of these: Autopilot OFF Attitude Hold Altitude Hold But after a lot of searching I could not find the LUA export for autopilot status (FC3 F-15C)... I have tried this: local nav = LoGetNavigationInfo() local status = nav.ACS.mode I get the value OFF but it remains OFF all the time, so I guess that this export is not valid anymore after so many changes by ED. So I am asking here anyone in the know, please help or point me to where to read about these. PS: I know that the two switches in the cockpit show the autopilot status, but I do not want to keep looking there after each autopilot command.
  21. Where is that ID displayed in cockpit/HUD?
  22. As far as I know only the radar can be exported for F-15C. I wish ED will help us out with the RWR export... should not be that hard for them.
  23. Your 7970 can drive that monitor properly, it has DisplayPort 1.2 spec. Very hard to tell what kind of FPS you could get, but worth the gamble IMHO. I run more pixels than 4K with one card (680 with only 2G RAM) while the minimum FPS is 30 for my purposes. There is no need to "run games on max" but that is a personal preference.
  24. Oh yes! 4K with 60Hz on DisplayPort! Gets my vote.
  25. Why not use the touch screen just for "non 3D" stuff? meaning buttons and instruments, no MFD, RWR, etc. exports or kneeboard which require 3D. In that way it will not slow down your rendering at all. As you know there are lots and lots of commands in DCS and it is definitely better to use a touch screen interface than remembering keyboard shortcuts. I am using your Helios profile and I thank you for building it. PM me if you need any help with the setup.
