Thick8 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I hope so. I've looked for this answer that has probably been answered a gazillion times. I have my 3 1920x1080 Eyefinity (desktop 1) monitors and a 4th 1920x1080 (desktop 2) monitor. I've followed Gadroc's direction to install all of the a10 files in their correct location. I've installed helios and tried to run it. I receive the error "Can not display this profile because it has an invalid monitor configuration. Please open the editor and select reset monitors from the profile menu." I've done this with no joy. What am I missing? Thick8 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 Ok, got it working. My FPS went from 24 to 11 sitting on the runway. Taking off was a slide show. This is on a heavily cooled and overclocked 6970 2Gb card. I'm thinking maybe I need to find another solution. Warhog Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Same thing with me. See my sig line for my PC specs. Not to shabby yet my FPS dropped from 40 down to 11 as soon as I started into a mission. I just gave up as there's nobody around to answer questions about Helios. I've decided to build a partial cockpit and use USB IO boards to communicate with my PC...unless of course I can can some reasonable help running Helios. Sorry that I can't be more help but at least I now know I'm not the only one with this same problem. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... cichlidfan Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Do you guys have Aero turned on in Windows? Without Aero running Helios will kill FPS. Warhog Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Yes I had Aero on as per the readme file that described how to set things up. Actually tried it both ways but I didn't see any major difference. I used the LOZ package without making any changes except o the monitor sizes. I also used EMC to set up my exports and that worked out just fine after some fiddling as the latest download of DCS World changed a few things. It sure would be nice to have a short consise brief as to how Exactly Helios, support files and DCS are setup to work together. It took a lot of time reading through threads on who had what problem and how it was fixed etc,etc etc. Trying to piece it altogether to make Helios run properly was a major effort and even after all that it ran so slow, or I should say A10 ran so slow as to make it no longer worth the effort. If someone could walk us newbies through it I would give it another go. I'm sure Thick8 would appreciate it as well. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... Yeah its shame the author doesn't seem to support it, at least when it comes to documentation, considering the software itself is amazing. The instructions on his site are worthless. In the end I found (or was told about ) a Youtube video that at least got me started and there is a thread on how to setup lua files for multi monitor and MCFD's. So it will take some learning and trail an error. In the end I abandoned it except for MCFD's (and only while training) and even now I'm thinking of just going back to zooming in to read them instead of using Helios.
