I don't have this file on my computer... I don't have a link in the start menu and I cannot find a place to download this file. Can someone point me to a link where I can download this file? I have all the 1.2.3 files ready to go but cannot install them.... get an error message that says

"repair" .... you installation. No link to do it and no updater.exe on my computer and certainly not in the bin diretory.

Any help for a semi literate gamer? I have DCS 1.2.0.3205 installed and A-10 and P-51 modules.

Thanks,

John

Is downloading and installing the latest version an option or will your ISP throw a wobbly? Would be the easiest solution to your problem.

You mean the whole thing or the 1.2.3 patches....? I don't think it'd be a problem but I don't want to use up one of my registrations either... plus my keyboard is custom for my joystick.

There are no patches. Yeah, I mean the entire install. Your custom configuration files are kept in your User/Saved Games/DCS folder and thus unaffected by an uninstall and reinstall. Regarding your activations, uninstalls and reinstalls do not affect them at all - you can uninstall and reinstall as often as you like without having to deactivate/activate.

Ok, sounds good... I'll uninstall DCS world then. I'll make a copy of that folder just to be sure about my joystick stuff. I have already downloaded dcs, A-10 and P-51 v 1.2.3.10201_147.XXX One file each for P51 and A10... Plus 5 files for DCS world.

So with this, I should uninstall DCS world and then reinstall? Then it will ask about A10 and P51 and I point the installer to it and it installs the NEW files? Then copy my saved joystick directory over to the new DCS same directory and I'm done... is this right?

Thanks so much for the fast and helpful responses...

Uninstall everything and manually delete ALL leftover folders in your main install directory.

No need to make a copy - your Saved Games folder does not reside in your install folder and is left untouched throughout the entire process.

Correct.

Plus 5 files for DCS world.

...

No, there are only 4 files for the DCS World install: 3 .bin files and 1 .exe file.

So with this, I should uninstall DCS world and then reinstall?...

Uninstall EVERYTHING and then install DCS World, yes.

Then it will ask about A10 and P51 and I point the installer to it and it installs the NEW files?...

No, once DCS World is installed, run the A-10C .exe file. It will automatically find the World install path and install to your DCS folder - just follow the install prompts. Do the same for the P-51.

Then copy my saved joystick directory over to the new DCS same directory ...

No, as I said there is no reason to do this as your Saved Games folder remains untouched throughout the entire process.

and I'm done... is this right?

...

Now you'll be done, yes.

Thanks so much for the fast and helpful responses...

No bother :)

Ok,

4 files is right... my #2.bin is in 2 parts... I'll redownload. W

When you say uninstall EVERYTHING, all I have is DCS in my programs (Control panel, Win7). Yes, somewhere there is access to P51 and A10, but it's not in control panel/programs.... and I don't see it on my hard drive. Thanks....

That's OK - uninstalling DCS will automatically uninstall the P51 and A10 modules as well. Just navigate to your install directory when uninstall is complete to ensure that all folders have been uninstalled. If not, manually delete any leftovers in the main install directory.

Thanks

Just wanted to let you know I got it all installed and working fine... plus the dcs_updater.exe file now exists.

Thanks a bunch.
