I have flown a MP mission where I know that the elevation of some SA-13s parked around the airfield at Novorossiysk is at sea level or perhaps 150' above and have been shot down in an A10C at an altitude of 15,000 feet. The maximum alt range for the SA-13 should be about 11,500 feet. Has anyone else had this happen or is this a known bug?

I've seen this happen with some other missiles as well... I think the maximum maneuvering altitude may be about 11-12k but if the missile doesn't need to maneuver (ie: you took for granted that you were out of range so just flew right on by) then I wonder if it could gain a couple thousand feet of reach?

Someone else mentioned to me that it may reach to 13k under the right circumstances but that still doesn't account for getting hit at 15k. Eno, I thought it was you that mentioned seeing something similar happen in one of your missions.

Did you set your altimeter to the correct QFE?

Or did you leave it at its default value?

In the latter, depending on the weather, you might actually have flown lower then you thought.

My "safe" deck for the 13 threat has generally been 13- yes we probably talked about that. 15 definitely sounds whack so I guess we'll see!

As for qfe I was under the impression those numbers didn't mean anything anyway. Yes? No?

I have been experiencing more "levitating" ground troops lately (an sa13 launcher and more recently infantry- both between 5-10k). Did you get hit by a 13 launcher you could see or did you just get blindsided?
