Hey.

So, the guy I bought DCS because of has refused to update his game after I got his CD Key back for him and fixed his game.

So here I am.

Just looking for some people to play with, casual or super tactically, but I won't understand a word of tactical language, whatever it's called.

I haven't played DCS all that much, but I can start the thing and fire mavericks and AA missiles, so I'm not that bad, but I can still learn a lot.

My steam is Fiach Tiogair, same as on here.

So just say hi on steam or whatever, and we'll play.

So yeah. :D

*note, I did this thread in the multiplayer section, but decided to move it as it was getting 40 views and no replies. :'|

Come on over to http://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit we do missions and train new pilots.

Free training and the first thing you do is turn it down/

That's the best way to start flying on-line with people.

People that put in the time to learn how to do things right won't always fly with you until they know you're not going to do something like kill friendlies, take off from the taxiway, or generally get them shot down. I would take up their offer or anyone elses. It's a good way to meet them and could wind up being exactly what you are looking for.

I didn't mean to turn it down, but 2 reasons

1) I have no clue how to use Reddit

2) I want it to be individualized, not like a group thing

If it isn't a group thing, hell yeah I'd be interested, so yeah, maybe it isn't, so just say and I'll come along.

I need to sign up there. I often run through the dragon's training missions with Jtac a lot on my own. Would be cool learning a thing or two with you guys. I've also never actually used reddit either.

Not much to learn to use reddit. The training is in the form of "tuesday night noobs" in which anybody that wants to learn something or has any questions is free to ask (and be taught). There are at least 2+ instructor pilots on tuesday, sometimes it's themed, EG learn how to use the blackshark datalink/learn how to enter coordinates. I've flown with the 25th VFW which was one of the better VFWs as far as training and missions, I ended up leaving because in one of my LIFT flights I got verbally berated because I took off a couple (2) seconds too soon as my lead was already off the runway.

We're not like that at all and we have "serious face missions" a couple times a week where we're semi-formal on the radio and techniques, nothing crazy, certainly better than my experience in the 25th. We all realize this is a computer game and nobodies going to yell at you if you screw up.

Hamblue is correct about flying on-line is the best way to get into the sim. Anything from startups to advance flying somebody will be around to help you (if you so choose). We have a dedicated server that runs the Dragon training map 24/7 as well as teamspeak. we don't have "members" like the other VFW, if you wanna drop in one of our missions just drop in.

No need to sign up, just jump into our teamspeak and we'll give you the password to join the dedicated. Pretty informal.

Sounds great, I don't have a state of the art mic though, but it does have a mute function I found out. So I'll get teamspeak and try to jump in one of these days. I'm pretty comfortable with weapons and all. I could use some work in the different types of landings and such. Maybe more on using the CDU..sounds like I'll have a lot more fun learning.

You don't need a mute button on the mic. You can set up a push to talk button in teamspeak, negating the need for one on the hardware.

Cool well I got everything set up including TARS, even though I may not need it. I logged in to teamspeak and did not see anyone there today, maybe it was too early ha

Dumb question but have you ever used teamspeak before?

if not did you set it up for a known channel?

There are many servers with teamspeak. if one is empty try another.

When you click on the dcs server sometimes they.ll list the teamspeak channel

I'd be happy to play some multiplayer - if I ever get my multiplayer working. I'm just off to post to see if anyone can help with that now...

If you are looking for the Hoggit Teamspeak channel just connect to Hoggit.us

Otherwise, sometimes like mentioned above, there will be a teamspeak channel in the info of the multiplayer server.

Also people don't normally jump on till around noonish PST. During the week I'm on from about 10 am on. I'm sure it will be hopping tonight, reguardless if 1.2.4 comes out.

I'll try to jump on tonite since I've got things set up. Spending some time with my gf so I should have time tonite to run through some multiplayer. First time I've actually played online with the a10 so I would rather do it with others that can be somewhat patient, and what I saw on Hoggit, seem like very nice people :)
