With a new flight model and cockpit for the A-10A, are we going to get to use the Litening pod on this aircraft?

A-10A+ was capable of using the litening on station 3/9.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

I was just asking the question if someone from ED could answer.

In a future patch, we are getting a new cockpit and flight model.

The A-10A that we can fly can be equipped with the Litening Pod.

The SU-25T has a targeting pod in the nose that works.

Are we going to get the system to use the Litening pod on the A-10A?

Not going to happen. The Mav's are your pod.

How can you say that if you are not part of the ED team.

When FC3 first came out in beta, there was no indication we were getting a new model for the SU-27, or new cockpits for the 27 / 25 /A-10 etc, or a new flight model.

But we are getting those. - Have the new SU-27 model now.

I for one would love for it to be available for the A10A, it shouldnt be to hard to port that over.

But your changeing the scope of the FC3, granted the other weapons would need to be programed over too. Then they would need to program the MFD into..

So I'm pretty sure it could be done.. But at what cost? :joystick:

It is likely outside the scope of FC3. AI A-10A can use and benefit from the pod. Players can put it on their wing, but it won't be functional. Unless someone makes a DCS: A-10A, I doubt you will see it implemented, and even then the feature wouldn't be filtered down to the FC A-10.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Actually I can't see why it would be outside of the scope of FC3. Putting it there for the sake of the omniscient AI seems a bit pointless, as they aren't bound to the same limits of visibility as the human player anyway. Using the Su25T as the measuring stick here (pre-DCS world even), we're talking about adding a keypress that manually engages the MFD connected to a pod that the user obviously put on the plane because the plane is capable of using it. It already uses the same primary controls as maverick.
