RedRain Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Just wondering why these developer's aren't jumping on board and expanding there market ?
CyBerkut Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Perhaps asking those developers about it might be more informative and potentially productive. :smilewink: First off, we don't *know* that they are not. We can only know what has been announced. Some of them might be looking into it. Some might even be more likely to consider it if people ping them directly. RedRain Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 I have asked the question, but have had no response from them, that's why I am asking here ?
Conure Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I have asked the question, but have had no response from them, that's why I am asking here ? Rule number 1 of the DCS forums: ALWAYS expect a slightly hostile response from a lot of angry fighter pilot wannabes  On a more serious note, it's probably because the civilian market is massive (Check out the traffic moving through the Avsim forums compared to here) so they can make a more money there. Maybe that will change in the future. Alternatively, they may be looking to put their expertise into the next big thing in civilian aviation simming. Will hopefully soon see PMDG / REX/ GEX / UTX heading the way of XP10... Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
CyBerkut Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I have asked the question, but have had no response from them, that's why I am asking here ? I see. Well, while you may be more likely to get a response in these forums, they are less likely to be authoritative, since we aren't the developers. If they are not telling you when you make a direct inquiry, what are the odds that they told us anything? :smilewink: We can only make educated guesses, such as what Conure posted. As he pointed out, there are a lot of customers out there in that market. It has to be a bit unsettling to watch the gyrations that Microsoft has gone through with product offerings and programming staff. If the ones that have been developing for MS flight sims are looking to branch out... Conure probably has it right I'd guess... XPlane would probably appear to be closer to their wheelhouse than DCS, at least in some respects. DCS World is a very different kettle of fish, and I'm doubtful you'll see them over here any time soon. But that is just another opinion. In any case, my point about pinging on the devs remains. Yakking about it over here isn't likely to make any of them view things differently. If you keep talking to them, especially if you can make a case as to why they should consider it, it might have an effect. Especially after Belsimtek and other 3rd parties have products for sale, that they can look at. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
RedRain Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Well I got the ball rolling, why don't you ping them and anybody else that may be interested in enhanced visuals from such developers, only the masses will sway the decision makers ?
CyBerkut Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I don't because I'm not interested in them (especially the "Etc., etc.", since I don't know who they are). Good luck with your quest though! Maybe Conure will help you out with it, since he's apparently less hostile than I am. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
