HI,

Just downloaded DCS world yesterday and have been doing some research into the DCS modules.

Am I right in thinking that if, in theory, I had all the modules would I then be able to play scenarios where all the units are available to me in the same mission?

Ka 50-s , A10's ground units, all the FC3 ac ?

I'm more in the war simulation side of things and actually prefer to setup wars and watch them unfold using the cameras and giving orders, sometimes jumping into a cockpit or ground unit for a better view or to help out.

thanks

you still get access to the AI versions of these for mission making in DCS World. For hands on usage you would need the relevant ownership of the module itself. So if you want to fly the birds from cockpit you must own the module. Obviously the SU25 is free as part of DCS world and is usable from the get go. Combined Arms allows usage of ground vehicles via pseudo cockpit or external views

Ah ok ,

So even with DCS world on its own I can create missions that include all the type of aircraft and ground units (in AI mode only).

Do I need the modules to be able to give orders to them in game?

You might want to check out Combined Arms. In addition to control over AI parameters from the Mission Editor it will allow direct and indirect control on the battlefield. Think of it as a Command&Conquer-esque mode for DCS where you can also participate in the fight with most ground units. If that´s what you are looking for.. It can be fun in Multiplayer where you also combat those players with helos and planes.

no you dont, they are fully controlable on the interface, you just cant enter their cockpit or expereince the AFM (Advanced physics etc etc)
