Lame. And it still doesn't make sense lol. It's contradictory. IF stands for instrument flying. You can't be flying on your instruments when you're looking outside to navigate on roads.

Yeah so you use the ADF to tune to NDB stations. You'll get an arrow on your HSI point towards the beacon. You can also tune VOR freqs for VOR stations. Works almost the same, but now you can use your course deviation bar on your HSI to for instance track in- or outbound a VOR station.

That's it in a nutshell, for the Huey.

 

I haven't really looked at it yet, but maybe the Huey can also do some FM Homing. That's not IFR though, more radio navigation.

If anybody wants to see all the forms of radio navigation in the Huey, see my tutorial videos. I cover ILS/FM/VOR/ADF/NDB. Navigation by AM isn't possible AFAIK in the Huey. The UHF has a ADF setting but from what i've read from real life manuals it's not used.
