msalama Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 It's funny. All these years flying the Ka-50 I've always used the press-and-hold method, and while it works just perfectly with the Shark it sure as hell doesn't here (don't have the foggiest as to why though). I only got the beast under control when first disregarding the trimmer altogether and then carefully switching to move and tap, and NOW it all starts to connect. This sure is a tricky bird to fly, but by no means impossible! And another weird thing now that I'm on it. While I've never used the central trimming method before, I'm now finding that it's somehow all but essential. Is the centering delay much shorter, or is it just me? Or maybe the UH really is so fundamentally dissimilar that it requires a totally different approach even on a preferential sim settings level, i.e. something I've always thought has more to do with your personal tastes than with the machine itself? And just one more thing. The beast seems to be finicky as it comes to contoller sensitivies, and after tangoing with different settings for hours I finally settled on a biggish curve for pitch and roll, plus almost none for the rudder. But the weirdest just has to be the collective, because it's almost bent out of shape with the curve I'm using now :D But anyway, these are my findings so far. What're yours? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. Force trim on the huey is the same (except the autopilots ;) ). I only use trim if I fly for a longer time in one direction (5minutes or more) [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
msalama Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Force trim on the huey is the same (except the autopilots ;) ). Sure, but the feel is SO completely different from the Shark that one really has to think up new ways of doing things one has taken for granted so far ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. Razor5-1 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Is it just me or is it easier to fly the Huey without trim? I have far more control over the heli if I don't trim her, only thing is it's quite tiring
Robert1983NL Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 My force trim used to work fine... UNTIL I started using my G27 racing pedals as yaw pedals. Now the force trim doesn't work anymore... Though I DO see the button getting pressed on the cyclic. Weird huh? Does anyone know what the problem is?
