ozTRipwiRE Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Hi, I have a question about starting the Su-25 Frogfoot in Flaming Cliffs 3. I went through the relevant tutorials including the relevant parts of the 'Su-25 Frogfoot Study' on 'Introduction and Navigation' and the 'Taxi and take-off' parts of the 'Flight School' training tutorials. The 'Taxi and Take-off' part of the 'Flight School' training tutorials begins by telling us to set throttles to idle and then to start the first engine and then to monitor the instruments and so on. In the tutorial that told me this it was a different aircraft (a Mig 29) than the Frogfoot but that was the only tutorial I could see for this topic for Flaming Cliffs 3. I then loaded up the mission called 'FC3- Su-25- Tskhinvali Interdiction.miz' from under the ''Mission' section to put the tutorial to use in-game but when I started the engines of the Frogfoot in this mission the RPM indicators for example did not move at all even though the engines sounded as though they were starting up. I also noticed that the Mechanical Devices Indicator did not even show the landing gear as down as it did from the very beginning of the tutorial I mentioned in the Mig-29 (in the 'Taxi and Take-off tutorial). Can anyone please tell me what to do to properly start up the Frogfoot in this mission? Have I missed something? Any help is very much appreciated!! :) Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
159th_Viper Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Start the electrics, RShift-L. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong - away from main PC atm so cannot verify. ozTRipwiRE Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Still having problems properly starting Su25 Frogfoot in Flaming Cliffs 3 Hi, Thanks very much for your quick replies with my previous query. I pressed RSHIFT+L before starting the engines and that did turn on the electrical systems and I could properly read the RPM, for example. However, I have run straight into another problem. After turning on the electrical system (and the nav lights) I pressed RALT+HOME to start the left engine (I made sure that the throttles were on idle first). At first this was okay but after getting to about 43% RPM the corresponding light on the caution lights panel went off and the RPM needle stopped and went back a little way and stopped on about 38% RPM. I could not move this with the throttle on my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick (not a HOTAS) at all either. The same happened with the second engine. I did try to shut off the engines and start them again but the same thing happened. I was unable to move the aircraft forwards at all as well even though I pressed 'W' several times to try to turn off the wheelbrakes in case they were on (the plane did slightly move forwards on occasion but not under my control). Could anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong and how to amend this? Once again any help is much appreciated. Thanks very much, ozTRipwiRE
159th_Viper Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Map your throttle to your Logitech axis in the options menu. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career?
