Hello all,

This week, tomorrow and during 4 days, my virtual wing is going to do a LAN Party. :joystick:

We will not have wire Internet in the room.

We will logon on via a router behind a 3G Internet smartphone only for logon.

But, now DCS clients must be online during the fligth...

Our DCS clients (25 peoples) will be have the same Internet public address.

Questions :

  • Does DCS have limitation of clients by public IP ?
  • Someone did LAN Party and DCS-W 1.2.x ? Did it work correctly ? How many peoples ?

Thanks for yours replies

Best regards,

Tacno

I share our experience :

We finished our LAN party.

We don't have any problem to log in.

We were 25 pilots, connected on 2x 48 FastEthernet port switches. A Kerio Winroute routes to logon DCS servers firewalled. It was installed on a laptop. Some smartphones shared 3G Internet connection by WiFi with the laptop.

Nothing to tell, else new surprises of DCS patches...

Is there also a way for doing a LAN without phone or normal wired connection. The team im in is doing a demo end of this year in a museum and the building is blocking any sort of phone signal. We tryed it last year but to no avail we had to go back to FC2 in order to fly together.

no you would need a conection to see each-other....

Set a computer on the roof and share the dial-up internet connection. Then cable to your LAN room with a switch and set the "roof" computer as default gateway. :D

With DCS, all clients have to log on, by an Internet connection.

In the Museum, if you have an Internet router, it's good. Plug all DCS client PC (pilots) behind an Ethernet Switch and connect the Internet router to this switch.

2 servers are used to log:

If you don't have an Internet router in the Museum, perhaps my guide (french language with screenshot, sorry to be borned in farwest of Europe :) ) can help you : here
