So, what's in the rumors:

A nice comparison table between AMD HD 7970 and hypothetical AMD HD 9970:

The die size comes from 28nm to 20 nm

Stream processors come from 2048 up to 4096

Compute Units from 32 to 16

Texture Mapping Units (TMU) from 128 to 256

Render Output Unit (ROP) from 32 to 64

Memory: 4Gb GDDR5

Memory bus: From 384bits to 512bits

And the news (rumors) from NVIDIA:

The Future GTX 780 will be equipped with:

GK110 tech

2496 CUDA Cores (2688 for Titan and 1536 for GTX680)

208 TMU's (224 for Titan and 128 for GTX680)

40 ROP (48 for Titan and 32 for GTX680)

Interesting for sure but technology has unfortunately slowed in the last few years. Silicone has almost hit it's max.

don't know how can you say that after last generation jump over the previous...

6 nvidia series over 5 nvidia series, and 7 amd over 6 amd

the differences can be described as simply as meh

a 680 being almost as fast as 2 580's in SLI ... is "meh"?

im talking more about the 660 and 670 sure they are good, but comparing them its not really anything special in end game performance.

It just the feeling i got from the entire series plus them apparently being worse for 3d modeling than the previous series, and its the same feeling im getting for this series, dont know about AMD, but nvidia has stopped being interesting ever since amds 5000 series, especially with nvidias heat, power and noise.
