SharpeXB Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 So if I'm running out of fuel in the F-15C after about 30 min of flying. What am I doing wrong? I know not to cruise on afterburners. The mission load outs don't include drop tanks and I don't see a tanker on the radio menu. Is there aerial refueling in FC3? Do you switch tanks in the plane? i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Shein Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 The drop tanks don't occupy weapon stations. Always equip them, and drop them at the first sign of trouble. No reason not to have them in the sim

No reason not to have them in the sim You become a blimp. If you use them, take 2 at the most. I doubt there is any situation where three is beneficial on the current map unless you're going to do CAP in a specific spot for a long time. You probably shouldn't need tanks though. What altitude/speed do you cruise at? I tend to go around 30000 ft at 450-500 KTAS. I can fly for hours without tanks. Is the 30 minute time your talking about total flight, or flight and combat time? SharpeXB Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I was doing one of the weapons training missions or a quick mission. The fuel lasts maybe a half hour or so, very short. I stay off the afterburners, I'm at about 90% rpms cruising. Maybe I'm cruising at too high a throttle setting? i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
