Baracuda Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Gentlemen, I need your advice regarding to the amount of experience you gained abouth Trackir. I can make a good deal buying a Trackir4 pro device. Now is it so much difference regarding to Trackir5 you advice me to wait and buy version5 or is 4 pro also a huge difference and enough to fly with in DCS compared to 5 ? I dont have any headtracking device atm so i realy dont know what i can expect. Ty in advance for your input. :)
dburne Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Not a large difference, if you have the opportunity to buy the 4 now, whereas to get the 5 means having to wait, go ahead and go for the 4. It uses the same software as the 5 does, and will do well for you. I am running the 5, came from the 4, and really is not a large difference between the 2. Yskonyn Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I have been using the 4 for quite a few years now and it suits me fine. Provided I have never used the 5. But regardless, the 4 does its job perfectly. One tip I can give you in advance; if you find your view control to be erratic, as in you have trouble focussing the in-sim view steady towards one point, you will probably get much better result by enabling V-Sync in the videocard's graphics options and/or the VSync option in the sim options menu. Perhaps the 5 copes better because it has a higher refreshrate, but with the 4 I have always found I need to enable VSync when using it.
