Hi,

I own the CD version of DCS A-10C. It is installed on my PC. I am going to install DCS World. Will DCS World sees my existing installed A-10C? or will I have to purchase the A10-C module?

Thanks,

Bernard

Hi, I think you should probably install dcs world and update it before re-installing dcs a-10 but I might be wrong.

Just get DCS World, install it, then get A-10C module and install it. Enter your key from "old" A-10C if it won't recognize it automatically at first run.

You don't have to buy anything. Just download and install DCS World + A-10C module. It will probably find your valid key in the windows registry, maybe asks for activation, just press OK or next or whatever. You can keep your current standalone version, but of course you can uninstall it later if you wanna save hard disc space. DCS World + A-10C module and standalone A-10C are separate products, so they don't mess each other even if you keep both.

I have an issue buying the A-10C module when i just purchased the DVD version two days ago for $43.00. Howcome it does not work with DCS world and if i need the download version then the dvd version should be pulled from the stores as it does not work. i even tried installing it into the same aircraft folder as the P51D and then nothing worked and i had to uninstall everything and start over. Is there something i am doing wrong with this pain in the rearend simulation.

Aliqat, cannot say what's wrong with your installs.

I purchased a DVD version a looooooooooong time ago. I still have both the standalone and DCS World version installed on my computer. No problems.

All I am doing is putting the DVD in and following the prompts. Could I have an issue if DirectX 11 is installed and if so how do I go back to 9c without screwing up the operating system and programs that use DirectX. Also in the P51D the controller settings are Greyed out and it handles erratically and no option to install a profile. I have a Saitek X65F and CH Pro Rudder Pedals. The computer 6 core Plenium AMD 3.2ghz 8gb memory Gigabyte MB with SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 EVOS GEForce GTX 660 with 2gb of ram. Windows Professional 7 in 64 bit. Seagate 1.5 TB 5,800rpm with 6mb buffer and L2 cache.

The DVD is for the older version of A-10C. It was BEFORE it was integrated into DCS: World.

So, the only thing you need from the DVD is the Activation Key. If you have DCS: World already, just download the A-10C MODULE(you can even do this through the module manager now), install it, then start a mission and if it asks for your Activation Key, put it in.

I know it's not the most straight forward simulation, but it's improving with every patch.

I hope you have better luck then I did as I fought trying to get the DVD version working for over 14 hours during two days and never got it to work. I even tried installing it to the same folder inside DCS world as the other aircraft. Doing that caused me to uninstall DCS world and the other aircraft and reinstall everything except DCS A-10C. I called Amazon and they are allowing me to return the DVD version for a full refund including the cost both ways for shipping. I will use DCS world and module Updater and buy the download version which should work. It may be something in my system however that is the only program I have had trouble with.

You're not getting it. You just need the Activation Key from the DVD version. That. Is. All. Just use that for DCS: World + A-10C Module. Done.

Unless you don't get an Activation Key with the DVD version. Then I am sorry and will stop talking.

It comes with a key and that is all that is needed.

The DVD itself is of no value except to keep your drink off of the table.
