Dudester22 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) I have just set up my keyboard to make it easier to remember key combinations. Anyways, to cut long story short this has meant turning my keyboard upside down and using stickers over the keys. Take a look at the pic I upload to get an idea of what I mean, that's not my keyboard though, but it gives you an idea of what I mean. I know it's a bit drastic, but it sure does help when you go to press a key quickly and your minds all over the shop wondering which ones to press like mine lol. The only problem I have now is I want to turn my F keys the other way round to make communications easier. So I have taken the keys out and replaced them..Meaning F12 = F1 and F2 = F11..etc. Only problem now is when I look in the menu's in-game, I don't see any F key settings to change in the game? I want to use the F keys in the order I am used to which is from left to right F1, F2 ..ect. So anyone know how I can make these changes? Like F1 becoming F12 etc? Thanks!! cichlidfan Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 If you are trying to change the keys for the radio menu, it cannot be done from the Options>Controls screen because those keys have the radio functions when the menu's are on screen. It may be possible to modify the game itself, to do what you want, but I have no idea where the changes would need to be made. Yes that's what I'm trying to do and was hoping there is some file I can change. I have no Idea what file to change either. Hopefully, someone else can point me to it.
Yellonet Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 It's in the control options, under "View". Or you can probably change it in "C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\keyboard\Keyboard.lua". i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

You can change the 'F' key view commands all day long and the radio commands will still be the same way they were. cichlidfan Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I would guess it is buried in one of the files in this folder. I glanced at a few of them and it seems like this is the likely area to mess with. <install path>\DCS World\Scripts\UI\RadioCommandDialogPanel ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Ah, sorry I'm a bit tired and didn't realize exactly what you wanted. I'm not sure there's any way to change this, it may be hard coded into the game... i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

The text strings are in the lua files but on a glance I did not spot the function assignments. I saw some text commands in the config folder from the path you gave me, but like you I cannot find the function assignments to change the keys.
