USAFMTL Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1375995&CatId=6959 The UM-80's are priced too steep and I am needing a new computer. So I can't spare the UM-80 price. But what about this thing? [sigpic][/sigpic] US Air Force Retired, 1C371 No rank or title will ever be as important as the unit patch you wear.

Ranma13 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I don't see why it wouldn't work, but keep in mind that it's a 16" monitor with a 1366x768 resolution. In other words, really really large pixel pitch. And the reason why I think most people pick up the UM-80's is because the size is just about right for mounting the Thrustmaster MFCD's onto.
metalnwood Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Actually, the pixel density on a 16" with that resolution is slightly better than 1920 on a 24" so it will be a little crisper - but smaller too.
Sorin Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 USB monitors are too expensive for what they offer. Also they use more CPU than a normal monitor. Why not buy a 22" 1920x1080 DVI/HDMI monitor? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7625121&CatId=2775
Thick8 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) I use an Acer 16" 1366x768 monitor for my Cougar MFCDs. The pixel size of each MFCD is 441x441. I also have the RWR between the at 244x244 pixels and the digital clock. everything is very clear and easy to read. I got mine for $40. John I just looked on Ebay (where I got mine) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-X163W-16-LCD-Monitor-/261218938389?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item3cd1dcae15 Edited May 23, 2013 by Thick8 All of my posted work, ideas and contributions are licensed under the Creative Commons - Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0,) which precludes commercial use but encourages sharing and building on for non-commercial purposes, ©John Muldoon

USAFMTL Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Well I decided to use the laptop I game off of as my 2nd monitor for my MFD's etc. Using command strips to mount them and adjusted the coordinates as needed this is my result. Now I know this looks like a set up I has before but that was using a desktop and a laptop. This time though this is the laptop only. Also being a piecemeal Alienware my friend tweaked so now is smoking. So I couldn't be more pleased. Didn't cost me any extra money.
