Woa! What'd I do? Trackir just quit

I'm brand new to the sim & thought things were going well setting up my controls, but now my Trackir is no longer recognized in the sim. I don't know what I did to cause this. Right now even though Trackir is listed as a category , it doesn't have any commands listed below in its category. To tell the truth, I'm not sure if it had commands listed in its category before, it had just been recognized automatically before. I tried unplugging the Trackir USB for 1 min , but it didn't help.

Also, under the "view cockpit " settings I see " camera transpose mode on/off" is highlighted in red , indicating a conflict. I don't know what it conflicts with though, it's the only thing in red. Its only command setting is for keyboard " Lshift + F1". What's wrong here?

I know these are probably simple new guy questions but I'm really not getting how to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

OK. Your controller configuration files have gotten hosed.

 

The best thing to do, though it will reset all of your controllers, including ones that work, is to delete C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input folder.

 

When you restart the sim your controls will be back to their default settings.

Go to:

C\users\*your name*\DCS\saved games\config\input

 

Remove that folder (the input folder) - just place it on desktop in case you need it as backup.

Start the DCS sim.

DCS will create a new default input folder.

This will sort out any conflicts.

But you need to re-assign any custom settings/key mappings you made so far.

Glad I spotted this thread. I just had the same issue after buying this yesterday. Worked fine then all of a sudden trackir stopped working. Couldn't figure out what I'd done... Then found this thread. :thumbup: Thanks.
