Just make them move very very slow, set them to 1 knot. Doubtful they would come to a full stop anyway, less in port.

Thanks mate, I knew what the temp solution was but the dev's need to know that the alignment tools are not working for stationery ships, they work okay for vehicles and structures but not ships for some reason.

There was an alignment problem with Outposts or Road Outposts that was recently fixed. Good to post this one, too.

It appears to be fixed in the testers build. You can use a normal group of AI ships and simply turn the AI off for the group to get the same desired effect until the fix is added to a patch.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Cheers for that, it made me try something else.

 

I had been trying to insert a carrier in a port on a heavily populated map and I wondered if it was something to do with the other structures etc, so I tried it on a clean map with no other objects, but it is the same.

 

Worth a look though.
