Hi,

I am a huge fan of the DCS Series. Spent many hours in the A-10, the Shark and the Huey.

I am really looking forward to the Mig-21, as it has a radar and a little more A2A capabilites than the A-10.

However, to pass the time, is it a good idea to buy FC3? I mean the F-15 looks great, altought it isn't high fiedelity.

I enjoy starting up the A-10 and doing flights realisticly as far as a simulation allows. Will FC 3 be fun too? What do you think?

Best regards,

Jonathan

i like FC3 and i am also a switchology freak. FC3 is light and pretty fun in the su25T / su33. I personally lke the afm of the 25T and the carrier landings - tanking in the '33. sorry but i can't comment on the F15.

The thing about FC3 is that it allows for the occasional quick game if i want. its worth it right there.

Thanks for your reply! That with the occasional quick game is a great idea, never tought of that! Sometimes you just don't have the time or the mood to do a nice flight in the A-10.

Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 will require an installation of Lock On: Modern Air Combat or previous version Flaming Cliffs.
One question remains: Is it correct that I need FC 2 before I can buy FC 3?.

No, you only need LOMAC, FC2 is completely separate and not required.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Okay, so I have to buy LOMAC to buy FC3?

To install it yes. (technically you could buy FC3 but it just wouldn't work when you tried to install it.)

Okay thanks Jona. That sucks. I can't find any website where LOMAC is sold as a download version.

It is a pitty that there isn't a FC3 standalone version, which may be 10-20 bucks more expensive, but without the need for any earlier versions. This doesn't seem likd the best marketing strategy, but what do I know.

I will stick with the DCS series then. Thanks for all your help.

Ah, americans... ;)

Just so you know: Ubisoft only offers this to US customers. If your IP is non-US, no-go.

Why? Ask Ubisoft, I have no clue.

Please note that it says LOMAC _or_ FC2.

FC2 also requires LOMAC (due to legal obligations to Ubisoft, who own LOMAC), so the installer is able to accept FC2 as an install condition since that itself would have already required LOMAC.

Or he can ask someone who would be willing to buy it for him and send him a USB thumb drive with the installer files on it. Its not like I have 3-4 disks laying around, Im not going to use the download installer for anything. $9 for LOMAC and a $5 thumb drive cant possibly be considered a major purchase.

Yeah, I see, you get pretty much for that money.

I will check if I can find LOMAC at the next hardware store, else I might consider ordering it from Amazon.

Thanks for all your replies, and your help!
