The item "DCS_updater.exe" that this shorcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.

It was fine till the hotfix autoupdate. Cant repair either gives the same error.

Please, provide autoupdate.log and autoupdate.log.old files from C:\Users\<YOUR LOGIN>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\

Open D:\WINSYS~1\USERS\LOCAL\TEMP\DCS\update and copy DCS_updater.exe and DCS_update_apply.exe to your DCS bin\ folder.

After that you will be able to do a Repair.

 

But, something (AV maybe?) prevents from creating files in DCS\bin folder, while allowing to delete them. So the repair will stuck into the same problem. Most probably it's an antivirus.

 

Still, it's a buggy behavior of the updater which we'll fix. The updater should stay alive as long as possible.

Thanks for the speedy reply coff. That got me to be able to run 1.25 without the hotfix but ran into another problem when updating the hotfix. "DCS autorun .exe access denied" So I completely shut off the antivirus instead of disabling it and rebooted my pc. That allowed me to install the hotfix. Now its working. Thanks again.

Hmm...i often empty that TEMP folder along with other junkfiles, but anyway what was the name of that AV you use again? I'm starting to see the that alot of problems arise from AV and Admin rights with the installs

Similar issue here.

 

The autoupdater ran, told me the servers were busy. Now when I run it, the autoupdater doesn't even try and update, just starts the game.

 

Running updater to force it doesn't work either.

Force update by going to start menu and run "Update DCS World" from there. If you start game from desktop icon its try/check to update only 1/day.
