Just started playing around with the snap views. I would like to toggle the CDU Snap view so I don't have to hold while I type in what I need. Rctrl num0 doesn't do anything to help that I can see. What am I missing :(

Thanks

Rctrl + 0 switches lock snapview on,,, then you just press the number on it's own of the snap view that you want, example 1 ,,,,when you have finished with the snap views press Rctrl + 0 again to put you back to normal view.

Thanks Hawka. I have traced the problem I am having down to the fact that Rctrl + 0 is not mapped to anything in my key file. So what is the name of the function or call back that "toggles"? Then I can put a key in for it.

Thanks again.

Thanks Foss. I kind of guessed it was that one. But not ever have used the snap views before I didn't know if I was doing something wrong or it wasn't set up right or even if it has to do with the last patch!

I will try that tonight.

Thanks again.

Well as usual I am at a loss. Rctrl + 0 then a key pad number of choice. All I get is a snap view of the front panel view. Non of the others work. Rctrl + 0 is in deed set in my options. Just can't get them to toggle.

tested some scenarios here.

Check if the numpad is activated, if not you can only toggle on front panel.

Check if you have RCtrl + Numbers mapped.

Check if you did your mapping in A10-C Sim if playing sim mode.

OK

num lock is on.

Rctrl + 0 is mapped to "Cockpit Panel View Toggle"

Rctrl + 1 is mapped to first default snap view

and I am in the A-10 sim

So I should be able to press Rctrl + 0 and then 1 to get the radio snap view?

Thanks again

Rctrl + 0 then 1 should give you a snap view,, if it gives a snap view, then it is working,if it's not set to the the view you want.....You can set your own snap views quite easily and it is worth learning to do this link will tell you how.

http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Snap_views PS when you set your views to L win + num? they are also set to Rctrl +num? automaticly

Well you guys must think I am some kind of idiot by now :(

Hawka, I am trying to get a standard view to work. No custom snap views. But just for the hell of it I changed the true to false in the view file. Didn't help. The views snap but wont toggle.

I created a new "test.miz" file even.

Google this:

dcs a-10c: keyboard.lua

And you will find info about restoring the default keyboard settings by deleting the keyboard.lua file. I'm 99.999% sure that the location of the file has moved into your \Saved Games\DCS\ folders, so the old instructions will be referencing the old location.

If for some reason your snap view's all have the same settings ie same view, then when you change from one to the other it will look like they are not working ,when in fact they are.

Changeing true to false in the view file makes it possible for your to make a change and save it,you could change a snap view to see if this is the case.

What Hawka said.

I didn't think mine were working either, but it turned out all the snapviews were just set to the same frontpanel view for some reason.

My Snap Views work when I press the key for the different views. I just can't get them to toggle. Good thinking Dachs! I had to stop and think about that one for a couple of secs!

OK,lets just recap so we know where we are with this... when you press Lwin + 0 you get a snap view but only as long as you hold the buttons ?that is ok. but when you press Rcrtl + 0 it locks the view but if you then press 1 it does not toggle and lock that view....am I correct in assuming this is what is happening?

By the way to get out of locked views you only need to press 0 not Rcrtl + 0

Hi Hawka. Your close. I get snap views as long as I hold the buttons is correct. But then I try to use Rcrtl + 0 I get the "center view" but when I try to switch the view using the Num 1 nothing happens :( In other words...Rcrtl + 0 + 1 gets me nothing but the Center View.

Ok I assume Rcrtl + 0 is locked,,, I would suggest you customize that view to a different view and saving it and then try again.

when you use Lwin + 0 or Lwin +1 do you get different views if you do then disregard what I wrote above.

Hi Hawka. Ya I get all the standard snap views when I use Lwin + 0 or Lwin +1. I was thinking about mapping views 1, 2 and 3 to the cougar. So I switched them from LWin to Lshft. They still snap. The others are still on Lwin + x Num. Can't toggle them is all. I can put set them any way you suggest for testing.

Have you upgraded to version 1.2.5 ?

Well I am stumped,I wonder if perhaps you should run... repair DCS WORLD and maybe that will fix it because I think there is a fault in your download.

Do you have any mods installed which could have corrupted a file?

No Mods. I did put in a file for "templates". I think I will try a new key file for the hell of it and see what happens.

Its kind of wierd in that two of my buddies that I fly with can't get it to work either.

OK now I see what is going on here. In my kee file I have the num pad keys mapped to my CDU keys in pit. So it worked with the LWin button + xNum but not on there own. So I just need to tweek those 9 keys.
