DCSW 1.2.5 missile warning system

Hi,

When the radio assists option is activated there are no missile warnings, what is the reason for that?

I was flying along near a MANPAD with radio assist on AND a wingman. The MANPAD fired a few times and nobody warned me. I thought that was what this setting was all about?

It's weird, I thought it was just me...

 

Two days ago I created a simple mission (DCS v1.2.6 update#3); I put 4 AAA and 2 SAM units, 40 km away from airport. We flew (2 A-10Cs) to the target point. In flight, there were no radar icons or warnings. I thought I put friendly units. Then I recalled the colors. We were blue, ground targets were red. At this time two SAM missiles are launched! :D And we were hit and crashed of course, etc. etc...

 

I thought I missed something to put in mission and that's why we didn't get any warning... until saw this thread...

Just a wild guess here ... but if you used easy comms, were your radios set up properly (correct radio enabled, proper frequency)?

 

I ask, because easy comms seem to just "configure and tune the correct radio" for that one radio call you are making. I.e. you can send in that moment with the correct parameters, but after you made the call, the radio is back to what it was configured before. And thus probably not able to receive anything.

I guess I am just floored that my AI wingman wont call out MANPAD launches on me when he is in a perfect position to do so.

Do you have a track as an example, otherwise I can just try and recreate the situation, which should be easy enough.

I dont know, so I will try and reproduce and see if its a bug, then I can report. If you had a track then it would be easier to see what you saw, but as I said, its easy to reproduce, I will see if I get the same results.
