Can anyone give me any pointers on how to best use countermeasures and evade missiles?

...be advised, though, the A-10C is no fighter jet. It is difficult to dodge missiles from modern SAMs. In general, simply stay above or out of reach, until the SEAD guys solved the problem for you :D
