blackturbo Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi all, I had a quick question about running servers. can i download the core DCS program , and host a map with all the modules, without activating them on the host computer? Like for instance, I would play from another computer with all the modules activated, but none of the modules would be activated on the host, the purpose would just be using that machine as the host. thank you BlackTurbo
wolle Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Yes, that should work, no need to activate any modules on the host, as long as you don't play as a client from the host computer [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core I7 4820K @4.3 GHz, Asus P9X79 motherboard, 16 GB RAM @ 933 MHz, NVidia GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, Windows 10 Pro
Psyrixx Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Hi all, I had a quick question about running servers. can i download the core DCS program , and host a map with all the modules, without activating them on the host computer? The modules themselves mostly consist of the flight models for the planes as well as sound effects, interior cockpit assets and single player missions. So in theory all you need to host a server is the base DCS: World game. You could host any mission you wanted on the server, but you'd only be able to fly planes that you had activated on your client computer. Anyone else could, of course, fly in any of the other modules in a hosted mission that they had activated on their computers.
