Nossie Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Hey, One of my friends is thinking about playing DCS (huey) I have the Combined arms and A10C modules. Are there any MP missions made for A10/huey coop? Would it be easy to add in combined arms if you don't have the huey addon yourself? Actually - is it simply possible to A) Add different player controlled aircraft (preferably with wingmen) to a mission or task (i.e Frogfoot and A10) B) add a player controlled object for a product you don't own such as the huey expansion. Thanks. It seems kinda obvious that you should, especially if you own the 'combined arms' module. Edited August 20, 2013 by Nossie

So if two different types of aircrafts shall have the same route and/or tasks, you have to copy them. But all this is more important for AI aircrafts - you and your friend can coordinate your actions by yourself, can't you? B) Good question! Try it! You can certainly add aircrafts to a mission you couldn't fly by yourself (technically they do exists at least as external, AI capable model in everones installation). But if you can select the necessary "Skill Level = Player/Client"? Should be possible, but I don't know and can't test it ... as I have already every module installed. :o)
Brisse Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Yes, yes, yes and yes. Was that all questions answered? You cannot add wingmen flying different aircraft but in multiplayer you will add them as individual flights and then you are free to select whatever aircraft you want. Here are some missions that I think you might like: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71655&highlight=dragon+mission+pack
Nossie Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Ok, in the process of trying not to confuse you further, I have confused you further, myself further and neither am I any the wiser. First of all, I tried those missions you linked and they seem pretty good! - so cheers for that, my only slight concern is that with so many MP aircraft not used - how does the rest of the game handle difficulty? Regarding mission creation, I had a fiddle with the mission editor and I've found pretty much what you guys have said. As long as the unit is set to client you can fly it regardless of if you have the module or not (fly in the slackest sense of the word) Can you confirm one other question I have that has arisen from your comments? Is it possible to have two fighter squadrons, 1 player and the rest AI on both sides? Blue 1x player 2x AI Red 1x Player 2x AI

Create an aircraft group with more than 1 plane/helo and set one of them as player a/c. Player will be leader and the AI planes his wingmen. But for the part "As long as the unit is set to client you can fly it regardless of if you have the module or not" - that is the way you said it, not true. If you'd say "you can set any aircraft as "client" in the ME, regardless of if you have the module or not ... but actually flying the a/c can only someone who has the appropriate module installed." I'd have no complaints. :o) Edited August 21, 2013 by Flagrum
