_Dredd Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 The jets have 4-5 autopilot modes and the two barometric and altitude hold appear to be the same. Should these differ in their operation, and I'm curious why altitude hold has a sudden down pitch then up before settling. Is this to account for the planes AOA trimming? One has to be cautious when flying at 50ft. Maximus_Lazarus Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I guess if you're flying over sea they would act the same. I found that only the barometric altitude hold seems to work for me . But you can't really use that when flying low over the ground i guess :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Paganus Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Activating any auto pilot system @ 50' is not a good idea...
_Dredd Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Activating any auto pilot system @ 50' is not a good idea... Hehe I know. It's deathwish action to attend to another task  I'll test more tonight, I recall autopilot altitude hold mode in FC2 was less aggresive in pitch stabilising to FC3, it's a sudden down 3deg, up then stabilise action.
