Hi All

Not sure where to place this. A couple of questions. Does the carriers have Tacan and ILS information? I've noticed that launching or spawning on the carrier, you'll get WP or DME reading off the boat. It looks as if a localizer but no ILS info. If so, is it coded in the carrier itself or the aircraft that is assigned to it. ie: SU-33?

Another, obstacle I'm coming across is catapults. I know the the Kunetsov is ramp and has no catapult but is there one for the Nimitz class? Or are people just creating a trigger simulating a catapult?

Thanks in advance and I'm sure I'll have many more questions.

No there is no Tacan or ILS technically speaking for the carrier.

If you take off from there it will show as your WP 0, which in turn will give you your DME for the boat.

There is a localizer system, but you have to engage RTN mode in the SU33 and fly to the IP just behind the boat first.

Once you cross over this IP the AP will auto select ILS for landing on the boat and will guide you all the way in, with your recommended speed displayed on the left hand side of the HUD.

Cat wise... there is no function for this in DCSW as far as I know at the moment. People that you see launching off CATS are doing so in Flamming Cliffs 2 or in Modded versions of DCSW (not sure if there are any at present).

Even in FC2 there is no CAT launch, you have to take a full power run up to get airborne (not ideal I know)

If you want proper Carrier ops in DCSW you will have to wait like the rest of us for the DCS F-18 when ever that comes on the scene!

Good luck!
