1. When you unplug your controller(s) and plug them again then it seems that DCS tends to forget the key assignments/key bindings/axis assignments. It is quite irritating to map those keys/axis again. Are these saved in some file which can be backed up before unplugging those devices?

2. You can't change keys/axis during the game. You have to quit, go back to main to do these changes. Again, very annoying when you are in the middle of the mission and you want to know what key does what.

Any ideas how to solve problem 1?

There is a 'Save Profile As' and 'Load Profile' button on the Options>Controls screen. Note that you must save a separate profile for each controller. To do so, highlight any cell in the column for the desired controller BEFORE using the Save or Load profile buttons.

Of course, you must do this for each aircraft as well as each controller.

I am not sure why the problem is occurring in the first place though. I rarely unplug my controller but I don't recall ever having had that happen with any version.

EDIT: Btw, currently problem number two is due to supporting 32 bit OS'. The controls are set while one executable is running and then passed to the executable that runs the sim. Two separate executables had to be used due to 32 bit memory space limitations, IIRC. In theory, something could be changed once 32 bit support is completely abandoned.

I was going to open a "DCS Forgets Modifier" named thread...

I unplug my X52Pro when done or no need. And sometimes I enter DCS to see/watch a track or replay, sometimes I enter to play CA etc.etc. I don't plug Saitek, 'cause in these actions, I don't need it.

And later when I plug X52Pro and launch any aircratf, I realize that pinkie that I added as a modifier doesn't work. When check the controls, I see that Pinkie modifier is gone!

I guess it's in "...\{username}\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\modifiers.lua" - I took a backup this file. But there's no difference adding it again in Options or restore my lua file.

This bug exists a long time... may be since DCS World's very previous versions...
