kmbarreiros Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Hello Community, As the title states I am trying to get a dual monitor going with DCS-World and the SU-25T. Whenever I choose the .lua file I created and setup the options in DSC world the game crashes when I launch a mission. I am currently running a GTX260 with a 19" 1440*900 main monitor and a second 15" 1024*768 monitor on the right. Here is the .lua file I created: I have read over a bunch of threads on this and even downloaded the multiple monitor for dummies. I think I am making a mistake somewhere but just can figure it out. In the DCS world options I choose the test file I created and set the full res to 2464*900 the aspect is automatically chosen. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. cichlidfan Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 The most common reason for what you are describing, when everything should work, is that you are forgetting to uncheck the 'Fullscreen' box. I may be wrong but I have done it myself, more than once. kmbarreiros Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Thanks for the quick response. I remember reading that and did forget to uncheck that. But I am still not out of the woods With full screen unchecked I am now able to launch the game but on my main screen it is basically cut in half the left side is the cockpit the right side is the MFD, and the Right monitor only shows the Game avionics mode radar on the to right hand corner. So now I think it is just my numbers are wrong in the .lua file. Need to sleep so will check this again tomorrow. cichlidfan Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) Cool. I did not actually look at your lua at all since I was fairly certain where the problem was. If you are still stuck tomorrow post back and someone will help you get it sorted. EDIT: Your lua has your center monitor defined as 720 while your physical monitor is 1440. That is definitely a bit of the problem. Then change your MFD x value to 1440. cichlidfan Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Just use the EMC  you will find it in the user files works great no fuss no muss:megalol: I like EMC as well, but it also doesn't hurt to at least do something simple by hand so you have some idea how things work. Also, for small changes downstream it is still easier to edit the file. kmbarreiros Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) Unfortunately I can not use the EMC program since it is not functioning with the newest Steam Version of DCS World. Something about registry changes so when I launch the program it states it can not find the DCS World install. I think I may be noticing my mistake I am using the "Camera + RMFCD.lua" as a template and are suspecting this is for a single monitor splitting the screen in half. I am going to re read the multi monitors for dummies and try again. PeterP Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 ...or simply use this and examine the changes: _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('example test'); Description = 'Right MFCD on the right and camera on the center' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1440; height = 900; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1440 / 900; } } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 1440; y = 0; width = 512; height = 768; } GUI = { x = 1440; y = 0; width = 1024; height = 768; } UIMainView = GUI

On the bright side, even complicated setups are easy enough to do by hand and that method is more likely to work in v1.2.6 and onward. kmbarreiros Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 PeterP you are the man, I just tested the .LUA that you made and of course it worked. And now seeing it done is making a little more sense. I am going to play around with the Right_MRCD sizing because I did change it to full size 1024*768 and wow was the display huge was somewhat distracting. I want to try and make it so that the bottum left corner of my 2nd monitor shows the MFCD. kmbarreiros Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 This is FANTASTIC I got it exactly the way I want the numbers are a little different because I am at work on my laptop but I won't have to change much for my home PC. Thanks again can't wait to try this at home. To bad the SU-25T only has the one monitor. Can you guys recommend anything else on the second screen?
